Salt Fork Center, Homer Lake Forest Preserve, 1 – 3 PM
Join us for a hands-on workshop that transforms a local ecological problem into creative expression! You will learn about how invasive plant species spread, why they threaten native ecosystems, and what is being done in the Champaign County Forest Preserves to manage them. Then, we’ll roll up our sleeves and repurpose twigs from invasive shrubs that were removed from the Forest Preserves into beautiful, eco-friendly art pieces. You’ll leave with unique creations and a deeper understanding of how art and stewardship can work hand in hand. All materials provided; no artistic experience necessary. Recommended for ages 10+. SPACE IS LIMITED. REGISTER BY 2/18. For more info: (217) 896-2455 or Morgan at mduerksen-balk@ccfpd.org
