What It Means to Volunteer
The Museum of the Grand Prairie is one of a handful of downstate museums which has maintained accreditation with the American Alliance of Museums for 50 years. Our success is not possible without the dedication and support from volunteers.
Volunteers may have the opportunity to be involved in many phases of the museum's operation. You may have the opportunity to help by:
- Supporting school programs as a school marm or master
- Providing basic French or Spanish translating for students
- Hosting at an activity station or greeting visitors at programs or events
- Engaging with museum visitors as a docent
- Cataloging and maintaining collections
- Fundraising or serving on our Friends Foundation
We invite YOU to join our team and share in our mission! Volunteering at the Museum of the Grand Prairie provides opportunities to contribute to our mission by protecting cultrual resources and inspiring people ot care for, enjoy, and explore our world! You will meet new people and have an impact in the community.
