Abraham Lincoln & A New Birth of Freedom

History Comes Alive

7/1/2022 to 7/1/2022 | 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Program Location: Museum of the Grand Prairie, 950 N Lombard St, Mahomet, IL, 61853

Start your Fourth of July weekend with a visit from former president, Abraham Lincoln! Join us for an exciting outdoor speech and see the former president in person! Adults and children alike will enjoy hearing a first-hand account from Abe himself of the history of the United States during his time. Beginning with his childhood on the frontier to the twelve turbulent years from 1854 to 1865 which nearly destroyed our young nation, Lincoln will describe the events as he saw them that eventually resulted in a “new birth of freedom”. Following the speech, Lincoln (portrayed by actor Kevin Wood) will be available to answer your burning questions and pose for photos.

Current public health guidelines will be followed; programs may be altered or cancelled due to weather or COVID-19 related concerns. This program is supported in part by our friends at the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition.
