Teachers--are you looking for a fun and engaging way to teach a unit on immigration? Then why not visit Museum of the Grand Prairie in the Champaign County Forest Preserve District to experience our, "Immigration in Champaign County" fieldtrip?

In this fieldtrip, students choose a real life person who immigrated to Champaign County in the 1900s to "be". They then pack a suitcase with everything their person would need to survive in their new home. Hands on exploration of artifacts used in different common professions follow, and we end the day exploring the botanical gardens to discover the different ways in which early immigrants might have used the plants they found in their new environment.

This fieldtrip is offered in April and May and dates are filling up fast! Contact Katie Snyder at ksnyder@ccfpd.org or 217-586-2612 to reserve your spot today!
