We bid farewell to DeBorah and wish her the best of luck!

This week, one of our summer interns, DeBorah, wrapped up her internship with us and we are sad to see her go! DeBorah came to us through the Robert Frederick Smith Internship and Fellowship Program, a paid internship program through the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Over the course of the summer, DeBorah indexed nearly 30 oral history transcription tapes from the Doris K. Wylie Hoskins Collection for Cultural Diversity, promoted the collection via social media, and on August 13, she hosted a program titled "Community Conversations." During the program at Champaign Public Library's Douglass Branch, DeBorah played excerpts of the oral histories she worked with and facilitated a conversation with community members during the annual community event, CU Days. In addition to the Champaign Public Library, DeBorah also worked with the Champaign Park District and Champaign County African American Heritage Trail to organize the program.

We were lucky to get to work such a talented, young museum professional and we wish DeBorah nothing but the best in her bright future!

Check out some clips from some of the oral histories DeBorah worked with on this playlist she helped to create.
